Arzignano treatment plant

The Arzignano water treatment plant was designed in the early 70s to treat the civil wastewater of the approximately 40,000 inhabitants of seven of the ten municipalities of the Valle del Chiampo (Crespadoro, Altissimo, S.Pietro Mussolino, Chiampo, Nogarole, Arzignano and Montorso) and the industrial wastewater from approximately 124 authorised companies directly connected to the plant via 39 kilometres of high-density polyethylene sewers.

Works for the plant started in February 1976 and the plant was commissioned on 4 April 1978.

The plant undergoes a continuous renovation and improvement process, as well as new projects for increasing the treatment capacity. This innovation process has led the plant to become the largest in the Veneto region and one of the most important in the world in the treatment of wastewater from the tanning industry, with the capacity to manage a polluting load of over 1.6 million population equivalent.

Lonigo treatment plant

The Lonigo treatment plant has been designed to treat the sewerage from the Municipalities of Lonigo and Sarego. Several production facilities are connected to the sewer system, including four tanneries and a glass recycling company, which carry out appropriate treatment in their respective internal treatment plants before discharging into the sewer system.

The plant treats approximately 3,500,000 m³/year of wastewater, for a potential of approximately 70,000 population equivalent.

The process is biological with activated sludge and the wastewater of civil and industrial origin undergoes primary, secondary and tertiary treatments.

The plant is also equipped with a section for first flush storm water runoff, after screening, located in Via Rotonda, with a capacity of approximately 5,000 m³.

Montecchio Maggiore treatment plant

The Montecchio Maggiore treatment plant was designed to treat the residential sewerage from the Municipalities of Montecchio Maggiore and Brendola and is authorised for the pre-treatment of liquid waste delivered by trucks.

The plant treats approximately 3,500,000 m³/year of wastewater, for a potential of approximately 70,000 population equivalent and covers an area of 10,000 square metres.

The process is biological with activated sludge and wastewater of civil and industrial origin undergoes primary, secondary and tertiary treatments.

It is also equipped with a section for the treatment of liquid waste with high organic concentration, where it undergoes a specific biological pre-treatment with the aid of liquid oxygen.
